Eating out or takeaways don’t have to be left out of a healthier life. Here are a few simple and tasty steps to take.


The Fish and Chip or Kebab Shop

A traditional favourite, and it can be nutritious choice. But as most things are deep-fried and battered it’s best to choose carefully.

A portion of baked beans or mushy peas with your fish supper will add towards your 5 a day and ask for your meal without salt. You can always add it later. Remember that it’s the batter that contains the fat so try not to eat all of it, or better still, see if your chippy has fish in breadcrumbs.
