Bett Family
Last year the Bett family were named the Scottish Slimmers Family of the Year after adopting a series of small, sustainable changes to help them eat more healthily and be more active.
The Betts are determined to maintain their healthy lifestyles and continue to enjoy their newfound sense of wellbeing during 2010.
Irene Bett, 54, said: "My husband Jimmy, my daughter Marena and I have helped to motivate each other to cut back on fatty food and be more active and it's made a really big difference to all of us.
"We make a lot of healthy meals from fresh ingredients, like soup and pasta, and we enjoy snacks like melon and cottage cheese. Jimmy also eats fish much more often, which he bakes, grills or steams.
"Jimmy and I make a point of going out for a half-hour walk every night, as long as it's not raining, and I've started playing badminton too. It feels good to have a routine and we've both got a lot more energy now we're more active.
"Lots of people have commented on how much younger and healthier we all look, and we really feel that way too. It's made a big difference to the way we see ourselves and the important thing is that we didn't have to make huge changes in order to live healthier lives."
